Liza Wang Has No Plans To Return To PoliticsRTHK's Young Politicians <政壇新秀訓練班> show held a graduation ceremony and recruitment event today, attended by Liza Wang (汪明荃), Niki Chow (周麗淇), Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Mr Stephen Lam (林瑞麟) and Executive Councillor Leung Chun-ying (梁振英). The event was designed to encourage young people to become more involved in the political world and speak out about issus that they are unhappy with. At the event, Liza shared her own experiences of working in politics and asked if she would return to the political arena, she said that she will not because she would prefer to do work that directly benefits society. She felt that the social problems in Tin Shui Wai should be in the spotlight at the moment and when asked about Chow Yun Fat (周潤發)'s suggestion for the area to change its name, Liza said that it is not a problem of the name and she felt that the name was actually a very beautiful one. She said that there are many processes and facilities that need to be improved.

Liza was sponsored 3 sets of diamond jewelry which is worth about 24 million HKD. She topped all other artists(in terms of the $$$ value).
To clarify one thing: In the event that she went before attending the 2007 TVB Anniversary Award Night, she only received the Outstanding Chinese award, not the Doctoral Degree.
One HK magazine "refry"(wrote the similar thing again)the old rumor of Zaza not getting along with Lydia Sum (haha, I believed that article so much back then).Zaza is going to say something about this tonight in StarBiz, so have your recorder ready!!!

"Cantonese Opera Day 2007", organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), will be held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on November 25 (Sunday). Since its inception in 2003, the event has been highly successful and popular, with thousands of people taking part in a wide variety of programmes each year. After the opening ceremony at 12.45pm, "Cantonese Opera Day 2007" will start off with an array of free programmes including Cantonese opera performances, an open-top bus parade, autograph sessions by famous Cantonese opera stars, "Discovering The Cantonese Opera Heritage" exhibition, stage make-up and dressing-up, Cantonese Operatic Aria Karaoke and game stalls. Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Mrs Carrie Yau, Director of Leisure and Cultural Services Mr Thomas Chow, Chairman of the Cantonese Opera Advisory Committee Dr Stephen Chow Chun-kay, and Chairman of the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong Dr Liza Wang will officiate at the opening ceremony. More than 100 performers will participate in the ceremony and more than 20 youngsters wearing costumes will participate in the bus parade to bring the fun to the neighbourhoods. Other events will be held at various LCSD venues, as well as in Guangdong and Macau, in support of Cantonese Opera Day. To continue to develop the valuable vernacular art of Cantonese opera, the cultural departments of Guangdong, Macau and Hong Kong decided in 2003 that the last Sunday of November each year would be designated "Cantonese Opera Day". By holding this event annually, the organisers hope to build a broader audience base to promote and preserve the genre for future generations.

Nothing special..Liza just attended it.
well...by the way...in my state, one of our towns, Fitchburg, has elected a minority mayor for the first time in its 2xx-year history. Guess what her name is....Lisa Wong...kakakkaa. No experience what so ever and she unseated a four-term city councilor. Isn't that amazing!!!!
Ah Jie, Liza Wang, has been receiving numerous prestigious awards and good news lately, the latest, being her honorary doctoral award from the CityU of Hong Kong. At the ceremony, Liza appeared to be immensely touched and was tearing a little when the director was addressing her achievements on stage. A lot of friends were present at the award ceremony, including her good friend Law Kar Ying, goddaughter Jennifer Tse Ting Ting (Nic Tse's sister), TVB's top managing directors, Stephen Chan and Virginia Lok, Dodo Cheng, Lee Hiong Kam, etc.
Liza said that when she first set foot onto the campus, it reminded her of her school days. When I looked at the mirror when I was wearing the graduation gown, I felt really different, it's not like wearing a costume when I film a drama, because it felt real. I am incredibly happy as many of my friends are here to celebrate my achievements with me.
When asked if Law Kar Ying bought anything to celebrate Liza's achievements, he said, "I've already given it to her, it's a heart shaped necklace, Liza liked it a lot. It cost me 5 digits as it had a lot of carats. As it's a "crooked heart", so it's kinda crooked when Liza wears it. Did u get the "crooked heart" because you are not giving all your love to Liza? Kar Ying laughed, "Everyone has a sly heart to some point!" (Have you planned any celebrations?) Kar Ying said, "We've already shook hands with each other. In september, when I was guest starring in her concert, I didn't even get a red packet from Liza, and I had to pay for the airticket from my own pocket. Liza should pay for my trip when we go touring the next time." (Why didn't you kiss Liza just now?) Law Kar Ying said, "You know that I am incredibly shy!"
CONGRATULATIONS TO DR LIZA WANG!!!!!

After being the chairman of the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong not long ago, Liza received an Honorary Doctor of Letters during the Congregation yesterday at the City University of Hong Kong. A lot of friends of hers (such as DoDo Cheng, TVB top officials Chan Chi Wan, Lok Yik Ling, Tsang Lai Junk, her god-daughter Ting Ting, etc)attended the ceremony to show support. Liza's presence created a little chaos after the Congregation ended. Lots of parents and students rushed to see the famous artist when she was taking pictures with other guests & friends.
With regards to this ceremony, Liza said that this was her first time attending this kind of event. When she walked into the campus, she felt like she was back to her student age. During the time when the professor talking about her biography, she was touched and reminded of what she did in the past. The reporters asked her if this is more important than other awards, she replied,"this is an academic achievement, of course it's more important." Liza said she would focus her energy on her front-stage performance as well as her work on chinese opera. In addition, she would continue participating in various charitable activities.
At yesterdsay's event, Mr.LKY said he would buy a bowl of Wonton Noodle for Liza to celebrate this occasion and later Liza would pay for their upcoming trip to Japan. "Why didn't u buy a present?" He said the tilted-heart-shaped pendant on the necklace that she was wearing was a gift from him for her birthday. He claimed that he spent 5 digit HKD on it.
Some newspaper also mentioned a bit about the inauguration of her office (Chairman of CAA of HK)at a restaurant in Hom Hum the night before yesterday. There were 110 plus tables sitting with lot of guests. That night, they set up an aution on "treasure" of Wah Kwong(god that ppl worship in chinese opera industry) and raised about 1.64 million HKD.

As usual, the calendar reflects an artist's rank and importance in TVB. The newspapers always emphasize on who is in and who is out, who is flavored and who isn't. Due to the high-rating series Heart of Greed and her recent manager contract with TVB, Susanna Kwan has been given a better spot on the calendar, even better than Liza's. As described, Susanna got a closer-to-center place whereas Liza was sitting on the side of the calendar. (For full coverage, go to the web yourself)
Liza is in the February again (not sure why TVB always puts her in that month, Nov is better! :P). That Susanna is a bit closer to the center, oh yeah, it's a big deal. Like that would mean that Liza's rank has been shaken by her -,->
Enjoy Yourself Tonight EYT 2007 has begun airing on TVB's Jade channel at 10.35pm (weekends).
So far, Liza's been hosting the show. Haven't been watching the show, only a lil here and there. but i read that episode 9 was really funny and I decided to watch it. LoL. and yes it did crack me up. Kar Ying filed a lawsuit against Liza for being "too busy" and Wong Cho Lam appeared in court dressed in Liza's hot coffee outfit while "Law Kar Ying" and "Ho B" were the lawyers for the case.
