Linda Chung admires Liza =)

Linda Born to Act

There are people who say the entertainment industry is insincere, hypocritical, and very fake. However, TVB’s new little big sister Linda obtained praises that she seems very genuine. There is one person who thinks it might just be rumors, but 100 other people agree with her praise. Human affairs are not this ideal, but at least she has many people’s approval. This sweet girl whose style of speech was always like a little kid is only a little over 20. By nature she is modest, but she is not complacent. Instead, she is aware she is still not enough. “I’m very thankful that so many people support me. Getting praises definitely isn’t just by my own ability. Many circumstances helped. When I first entered the industry, I knew nothing. Many veterans happily helped me. For instance, Ah Jeh (Liza Wang Ming Chuen) always gives me pointers. Also, my idol Hoi Mei (Kathy Chow Hoi Mei) said she likes watching me act; I was really happy to death!”

Admiring veterans
Linda is recognized by veterans. Their teachings are naturally imprinted into the heart. As for Linda, what has she learned from them?

Liza Wang
“Ah Jeh is a very professional artist. She’s always serious when working. She’s never pompous when dealing with me. She’s very easy to get along with. She contributed a lot to Hong Kong!”

Liza cries when performing "Courages Chinese", kissed by Sir Run Run Shaw

Last night, TVB held a charity show to raise funds for the earthquake victims in Sichuan Province, China. Many celebrities came forward to show their support.

Sir Run Run Shaw kissed Liza
At around 7.30, Sir Run Run Shaw and his wife arrived at the TVB studio. Although there were reports of him falling ill and was admitted into the hospital, he was very alert and healthy last night. He walked into the recording studio with Dr. Liza Wang and Stephen Chan's help. Stephen Chan said, "6th Uncle was out shopping earlier today and decided to come to the studio to show his support." When 6th Uncle arrived, Eric Tsang, Ah Lek and Kayi Cheung stepped forward to shake his hand. When Liza Wang extended hers, 6th uncle was exceptionally happy and even gave Liza a kiss. 6th Uncle only stayed around 10 minutes. 6th uncle donated HKD$100 million to the earthquake victims.

When Liza was performing "Courages Chinese", she could not hold back her tears as the reports and pictures of the earthquake victims flashed through her mind during her performance. Just over 10 days ago, everyone was so joyous when the Olympic Torch arrived in HK, but now, everyone is feeling the complete opposite. Liza also praised the volunteers and rescue team for their brave efforts. Liza also represented the "Ho Kit Ying foundation" to donate HKD$200,000. 8 Woh Association also donated HKD$100,000. Liza also collected a total of HKD$8000 from the cast and crew of "The Turbulence Of East & West 東關飄雨西關晴". Law Kar Ying also donated HKD$10,000.

May 3rd. Liza Wang Ming Chun and Steven Ma Chun Wai attended a promotional event for a new residential development at Sun De, Guangzhou. Their first time collaboration had Ma Zai in good spirits. He saw at first hand Ah Jie’s serious attitude towards work, and felt that he had gained much from it.

Although the event was scheduled to commence at 10 am, they set off at 5 am from Hong Kong. After traveling for more than 2 hours or so, they finally reached their destination. Although the weather that day was extremely hot, and both were drenched in sweat, their zeal towards work was not dampen. After the opening ceremony, Ma Zai opened the show with his performance while Ah Jie closed it with hers. Ah Jie applauded Ma Zai’s performance frequently to show support. Later, Ah Jie commended Mai Zai, and said: “Haven’t seen him for quite a while, Ma Zai’s singing has improved greatly!” During the duration of Ah Jie’s performance, Ma Zai temporarily halted fans’ requests for autograph signing and picture taking, as a sign of respect to her. Furthermore, he also gallantly escored Ah Jie to and fro the stage platform.

Mai Zai commented that Ah Jie is a 100% professional artiste. “I’m very appreciative of this opportunity to collaborate. She has always been my idol. Her compliment towards my singing is a great encouragement to me.” Some fans got on stage to present floral bouquets to Ah Jie when she was singing 京华春梦, but so as not to affect her concentration, she waited until the end of the song to accept them. When receiving the flowers, she explained to the presenters and the audience of her feelings: “Please excuse me; it’s not that I don’t respect you but that I must respect this song and respect every one in the audience, therefore, only accepting flowers after the song is done."

When Ma Zai’s fans heard of his upcoming performance in Sun De, many traversed across the land from as far as Shanghai & Nanjing, putting in some 10 hours or more to support him, and to present flowers and gifts. Ma Zai was very touched by his fans’ support.

Runner #88, Dr Liza Wang (Ah Jie) participated in the Olympic Torch Relay as a member of the Political Consultative of China and HK Artist. During an interview after the historical event, Liza expressed her utmost joy for being chosen to be one of the 120 runners in the torch relay. Liza said that she did not get enough sleep the night before as she was too excited. Furthermore, to avoid being caught in a traffic jam, she arrived 2 hours before the start of the event and originally planned to have breakfast at a cafe nearby, but she had to skip breakfast as it was already too crowded.

Netizens praised Liza as one of the more dignified runners. Liza thanked the netizens for their support and revealed that she has tried out different ways to hold the Olympic Torch, and she finally decided to hold the torch at 90 degrees.

When Liza was interviewed after the event, she was reluctant to part with the Olympic Torch and was holding it throughout the press interviews. Even after getting onto the bus, her excitement has yet to diminish and she even stretched out of the bus to wave at the public with the Torch in her hand at all times.

Law Kar Ying returned to Hong Kong on the day of the Olympic Torch Relay and hoped to see Liza holding the Olympic Torch at the scene. However, his flight only arrived after 2pm and was unable to rush to Tsim Tsa Tsui, thus he only managed to watch her on TV. Originally, he wanted to surprise Liza by turning up at the end point of Liza's relay route, but the plan had to be scrapped.

At 4pm, a show was held at Tuin Mun to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Torch and when Law Kar Ying performed on stage, he surprised the audience by performing a somersault and a split. His effort were awarded with a thunderous applause from the audience.
